Standard Hand Scraped Wood Floors – Solid Red Oak
Standard package: $7.99/ft* (as of 8/26/2010)
Includes: carpet and tack strip removal, vapor barrier, 5/8″ plywood subfloor, solid 3/4″ tongue and groove #2 Common Red Oak, installation, hand scraping, staining, and finishing with 3 coats of oil-based polyurethane.
Available upgrades include:
Wider plank size, higher grade wood (from No.2 to No.1 or Select), water-based polyurethane, scrape with the grain.

Engineered Wood Floors – Glue Down Installation
Basic installation – $2.45 per square foot*.
Price does not include existing floor demo, wood material, installation adhesive (glue), or vapor barrier.

Tile and Wood Floor Demolition and Disposal
$2.00 per square foot*

Standard Baseboard Installation and Painting
$3.00 per linear foot* for a 3-inch to 4-1/2-inch paint grade pre-primed baseboard.
Price is for carpentry labor and paint labor only. Baseboard material prices vary depending on selection and are not included.

Entry Door and Threshold
Standard Solid Doors 32″ – 36″ wide – $200 per door*
Hollow – Vinyl Clad, Metal, or Other Hollow Insulated Door – 32″ -36″ wide – $300 per door*
Details: Where solid wood floors are installed (plywood and oak) up to a standard exterior door, the threshold height will not accommodate the thicker floor, requiring the existing threshold to be removed and a new one installed with a 2×6 metal clad base plate underneath. The door itself will need to be pulled from its hinges, trimmed, and a new rubber sweep or “door bottom” will be installed for a weather-tight seal. This process is more expensive if the door is hollow such as vinyl or metal skinned and insulated door due to the additional requirement of reattaching the cut off portion of the door. Doors with kick plates may require additional work.

*Prices are subject to change due to fluctuations in material costs, fuel costs, labor costs, and individual project characteristics. Wood flooring price is subject to a minimum size requirement of 750 square feet.
