What exactly is a hand scraped wood floor? The unique process of creating the "hand-scraped" finish is one that requires customized tools and craftsman-like attention to detail. The result is a uniquely distressed or rustic finish which is reminiscent of old floors you'd see in New England or Old World Europe. Just like it sounds, the floors are scraped by hand, then sanded, stained, and sealed. A more detailed explaination is available. CLICK HERE>>
What does the process look like with these wood floors? The process usually takes a total of two weeks from beginning to end. Installation typically requires 2 days. The wood normally needs about a week to acclimate before the finishing can begin (longer for sand and finish). Finishing usually takes between 3 and 4 days. After the final coat of polyurethane is applied, the floors are ready for traffic in 48 hours. Ready to get started? CLICK HERE>>
